Celebrating Munzer's Career and Journey with Jinane at MIT

We are celebrating Munzer’s 60th birthday and his 8-years tenure leading the creation of IDSS on Friday, April 14, 2023, and Saturday, April 15, 2023, on MIT campus. The celebration consists of two parts:

Friday, April 14, 6:30-11PM - Celebratory Dinner: A celebration of Munzer's career and his journey with Jinane that has a big impact on MIT.

Saturday, April 15, 8:15AM-12:30PM – Symposium: Discussions, talks, and conversations with Munzer and his colleagues that typically do not take place in more formal conferences. More details to follow.

These special events will be in addition to the IDSS Celebration, a two-day, in-person conference happening on Thursday, April 13 and Friday, April 14 at the MIT Media Lab. The IDSS conference will reflect on the impact in research and education made by IDSS since its launch in 2015. In panels and plenary talks, invited speakers will discuss the impact of research areas utilizing the available massive data, in-depth understanding of underlying social and engineering systems, and the investigation of social and institutional behavior to provide answers to critical and complex challenges.
